I believe 6 years in Senate, 3 years in House, why I feel like that?

The truth is that in 12 years the representative can hide in the half light of middle generations of 12 years.

Our problem is that if they turn into Rino or worse we are stuck with them for either 12 years as Senator or 6 years as House. And we have seen over generations that as soon as they get in they settle into being firebrands that snuffs out when they are basically told play along and you get along for in this case 12 or 6 years.

Think on how much will get done to help We the >People by those who know they will be voted out in a heartbeat if they turncoat on us.

“you have one shot at giving your all as Senator, and one as House, You work for us, do your duty and do as We direct or your out” and then they are back in with us.

It should not be a lifetime appointment, nor a 12 or 6 year binge fest at the trough.

If they are good at their job, and I add IF again, then they can have one additional either 3 years in the Senate as a final additional term that is agreed to by the Party only, or a 2 year term agreed to by the party.

Serving is Not a lifetime position, as a lifetime position fills the Government with compromised, and self serving Uniparty sycophants.

Make the positions worth Pride, and not worthless for the People, if you really are in it for the People you will be proud to serve then step down to be rewarded by us for your service.

IMHO

Blessings

We have term limits at the state level in MO for a number of offices. At the federal level it is much needed. I remember last time even Rush was making excuses of why we should’t have term limits. Well, all I can say is God himself thought it was a good idea to put term limits on mankind at about 120 years. For good reasons.

Term limits will only work if they are applied to Congress as a [w]hole. CWIDT

Otherwise, they will make a career by transiting from one house to another.

I would add PDT's idea of no lobbying jobs for 5 years after leaving Congress.

A return to their time in Congress being a service instead of a career. No more royalty who will only grant you an audience if you donate to their re-election.

And perhaps an annual audit of personal finances.

I agree on term limits but have one minor quibble in 3 year limits in the House. Article 1, Sec 2 of the Constitution says they shall be “chosen every second Year by the People of the several States”

I am good with limiting to 2 terms of 2 years and would not argue with one term of 2 years. Any limit is better than what we have now.

I do think we need to abide by the original Constitution in the 2 year terms on this. No matter how our changes go forward in this great awakening *my opinion* is that having an originalist framework will be the great stabilizer for the nation. It may be the thing, other than our God, which keeps us from going full-on banana republic. Just my 2 pennies.

The best thing we could do is to eliminate any and all pensions related to elective office.
