...about 2 1-hour shows on the cable channel Vice about ‘Qanon’. What little that I know about Vice my expectations were low but I thought I would give them a chance.
I watched the first show tonight. They did get the fact correct that there is no ‘Qanon’, that there is Q and there are anons. The show started out fairly even handed; they did try to tie Q to Prez Trump by implication, but then pounded the idea that Q was likely Jim Watkins or similar. They pointed out that the early Q ‘drops’ were incredible, predicting Hillary’s arrest in a few days. I had noticed that inconsistency with later posts; I have presumed there was a change of chair sitters, but they presumed a continuous thread.
Their first guest was a musician friend of one of the moderators who presented a good reasoned analysis of Q. The high road began to sink quickly from there. At one point they started claiming that Q posts incited followers to violence; they continued on that theme. I said to myself that if Q is responsible for the shooter on the Hoover Dam then Bernie Sanders is responsible for the shooter at the Republican baseball practice in D.C. Of course the show never reached that depth of understanding and objectivity.
They interviewed a seasoned policeman who said that he believed Q, especially about child abductions and abuse and murder. He equated such people with subhumans like Black Lives Matters. The male moderator said that he believed in BLM and did that make him a subhuman? That blew the objectivity of the show right there. The officer dodged the question; I would not have.
They spent a fair amount of time speculating on who Q is. Their musician friend rightly refused to go there. You can tell that they have never read Q; they consistently associated him with 8chan personalities, missing obvious WH links and proofs.
I will watch the second hour in a day or two. The tease for that show appears to present a fairer picture - but I don’t believe it. These two investigative reporters, a man and a woman, have all the depth of a freon spill. They appear to me to be about as strange as the picture that they are painting of Q.
Why was this film was made? It was painful to watch not only because of the misinformation but also with the filming style. I watched it with the eyes of someone who wanted to find out what this Q thing is.
I came out totally confused. What stayed was how offended the reporters became with the police man and that Q incites violence.
I will skip part 2.
thanks for the Vice look!

QAnon
Wikipedia
QAnon is a disproven and discredited far-right conspiracy theory alleging that a secret cabal of Satan-worshipping, cannibalistic pedophiles is running a global child sex-trafficking ring and plotting against former U.S. president Donald Trump, who has been fighting the cabal.
