The Confederates formed their country really fast considering the technology they had back then. I doubt if Texas was to succeed that they could even come close to the speed in which the Confederates States succeeded. Our government can’t even get simple bills through Congress in a timely matter.

Yes, they did. But, the division in the country had been brewing for many years (like now). Pulling the trigger to leave was was easy. I’m sure all the “i’s” were not dotted when they made the move, but it was far enough along that they were able to form a government and an army that held off the other side, while badly outnumbered, for 4 years.
