French authorities are looking at shutting down a far-right extremist group that has staged several attempts to forcibly block migrants from entering the country by crossing the Alps or the Pyrénées mountains, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said Tuesday.
Darmanin, who has also led a recent crackdown on extremist Muslim organizations, said he was “outraged by the efforts by Génération Identitaire activists to undermine the republic.”
Last week, around 30 members of Génération Identitaire (Generation Identity) gathered at the Col de Portillion pass on the border of France and Spain in what they termed a surveillance operation to “defend Europe.”
It was the latest of several mountain patrols in recent years, often involving the building of fences at key crossing points, that have led to skirmishes with migrants and activists. …

France is a catholic country-screwed up.
You sure about that? They always tell us they’re a secular country.
Yeah, while the ones at the top fight against those with the fight in them.
If they were patient enough, they could probably get much more accomplished by educating their neighbors and others around them. The rough stuff tends to attract rougher opposition that will waste their time. Their goals look good from here, but I’m not very acquainted with them.

Left-wing authoritarianism is growing all around the West. If someone breaks the law, arrest them. Don’t try shutting down political organizations and speech that you just don’t like.
We lived in Paris for 3 years in early 2000’s. I rarely ever saw a black person outside of the street cleaners who came out at 6pm promptly every day. All of them were black.
I actually interceded in an argument with an older white French lady from my neighborhood at the grocery she was having with a black woman about middle aged. At the point I interceded, the white woman was actually hitting the black woman with her cane! I was the only one who jumped in and tried to stop it. When the Yugoslav Security Guard who used to practice his English with my husband and I saw it and realized I was involved, he jumped in and stopped it.
I asked him later why he didnt get involved earlier and he said he probably would have been fired. He said it was because in France, the white French are always right if there is an altercation with a (rare) black person. I was shocked.
I asked my neighborhood friend Jeannie about what happened and she looked at me very sternly and said “France is for the FRENCH”. I told her what if the black woman were French and she looked appalled and sputtered. She said “the coloreds arent REAL French!”. When she said “France is for the French, they mean white, native born French ppl. While they will accept ex-pats (like we were) IF they are white AND they learn the language, live in real neighborhoods and assimilate only to “French ways”.
These people arent “right wing”, they are typical French born nativists trying to protect their Country since the Govt has failed miserably at this point.
My friends there tell me parts of Paris are garbage strewn ghetto tent cities that the City Govt makes a big show of cleaning out every month or so but they are right back within a week.
France has been invaded and that is why the nativists are reacting (to them) quite normally.
“He said it was because in France, the white French are always right if there is an altercation with a (rare) black person. I was shocked.”
In watching some stuff about the legal system in Japan, it was told to the viewers that they (being gringos, blacks, and other non-Japanese) better not get in trouble over there, because they don’t have a prayer there, given the pro-Japanese bias of their judges and overall legal system.
At first I thought that was crappy, now I want to move there. I’ll roll the dice with a country fully of people who do not hate their culture and expect newcomers to behave and conform.
Funny how they still say “France is for the French” and haven’t woken up as to what the European Union is.
