You beat me to it. Public officials love to host the Olympics. They get to brag. They get to pose with the athletes. But the taxpayers? They usually end up taking a significant hit.

Yes— always, a huge loss to the country, state and city involved. A giant sucking sound going to the payoffs on the Olympic Committee.

Yes. But because it would be a last minute, seat-of-your-pants operation, there would be no new construction, saving a lot of expenditures.

It would have to use existing facilities, probably at state universities and pro sports stadiums. The economic impact of a hundred thousand more visitors, spread all over Florida, would be a nice tourism boost.
