Not to be confused w country singer of same name who died in 1933
honeycombs big?
I literally upon seeing this heard the song Honeycomb going through my head...I remember as a little kid listening to this in the car as my parents played it on an 8 track tape LOL
One Jimmie Rodgers died the same year the other was born.
I never heard of this Jimmie Rodgers. The one I knew died in the 1930s at a very young age.
When I was kid this one of the 45’s I was allowed to play on my dad’s record player. I loved it.

There is also a blues guitarist named Jimmy Rogers.
That’s by the first Jimmy Rodgers.
I know that. That was my dad’s favorite song.
Hopefully young people still get to hear it.
I cover “Kisses Sweeter Than Wine” in my lounge act tour every spring.
Jimmie Rogers came to Juneau back in the 80’s for a concert and had laryngitis and could not sing. I’m trying to remember if they refunded the ticket money.
I loved Jimmie Rodgers.....Kisses Sweeter Than Wine was my fav of his.......great voice, good songs. RIP Jimmie
“...died of kidney disease brought on by COVID 19.” Fixed it. /s
My gramps has an LP of his - a couple I think. Wonder if they’re worth anything. He does have an original Beatles LP on Capitol worth around eight grand.
RIP.
RIP, Jimmie Rogers.
However, those songs Honeycomb and Kisses Sweet Than Wine were played on the radio constantly and drove me crazy. Can you believe I can still remember standing as a kid by the radio over the fridge on those old linoleum squares and hating those songs.
