De Blasio ‘shocked’ Staten Island ‘autonomous zone’ bar owner not indicted

Bill de Blasio said Monday he was stunned that a grand jury didn’t indict a controversial Staten Island bar owner for driving into a deputy sheriff.

Presti had been repeatedly cited by the city sheriff’s office for refusing to adhere to state coronavirus lockdown restrictions, declaring the bar “an autonomous zone” exempt from the mandate.

New York City Sheriff Joseph Fucito told The Post Sunday that he had reported that Matos suffered “broken tibias” because of a misdiagnosis from doctors.

Guessing that most of the competent physicians have left town?

Everyone has covid and any unfortunate that died had a double dose of covid?? Now, this cop had two broken legs?

"'Fractured tibia, sergeant'? 'Fractured tibia, sergeant'? Ooh. Proper little mummy's boy, aren't we? Well, I'll tell you something, my fine friend, if you fracture a tibia here you keep quiet about it!"

Well DeBlasio - I’m sure you’ll recall that your daughter said ACAB... and you agreed with her.

So why shouldn’t the grand jury fail to indict an attack on a cop?

Or are you just upset that the grand jury sided against your unconstitutional lockdown and supported a guy who used your own terms against you?

I’m thinking its the latter...

Is this the beginning of jury nullification?

I hope it had nothing to do with the political aspects of the lockdown. By the by the way, the closing of bars IS constitutional. A state can regulate business, certainly for what it perceives to be public health reasons.

Anyhow, His Honor displayed little knowledge of the law when he said “If someone hits another person with a car, that’s an offense right there” That is false.

Hitting someone with a car is only a crime if it is deliberate or by gross negligence. Apparently the Grand Jury believed it was neither. The very reason that we have Grand Juries to prevent political prosecution.

And the jury can determine the law is wrong.

The State of New York lost any right to lock down any business in the state when New York governor 'Nursing Home Killer' (NHK) Cuomo marched with rioters in violation of his own COVID-19 diktats.
