Lou Adler, who signed them & produced their albums, was married to Shelly Fabares during the M&P era which actually lasted less than 3 years.

I almost forgot...

The studio “band” for the M&P albums was the best of the best LA musicians - “The Wrecking Crew”.

Although Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) gets a lot of credit for his vocal arrangements, John Philips was, at the very least, his equal and IMO even better than BW.
