What does the US Constitution say about removing a president who is out of office?
And who presides over this farce? The Constitution says the Chief Justice will preside over a trial of the "president". BUT TRUMP is now a private citizen. Joe Biden is president.
Nancy and Chuck are both fools with no basis for their claims and charges...............
If the Chief Justice is willing to participate in this sham trial, he will be up for impeachment because of his violation of the Constitution.
DiFi just made noises that she didn’t think a Senate trial should happen. It has nothing to do with any fidelity to the Constitution but simply that she been around long enough and is politically savvy enough to know how this could blow up in their faces. A non-conviction gives Trump the right say “The US Senate declared me NOT GUILTY”.
What is the real objective of the Democrats with this impeachment and conviction? Humiliating Trump publicly and in the history books is certainly one goal. Preventing him from running is another, although they have already proven they can beat him so fear of him winning in 2024 can’t be the primary driver. After all demographics will be even more in their favor in 2024 with over 10 million new Democrat voters registered and at least a couple of million elderly 2020 Trump voters deceased by 2024.
Look at the end game which is to destroy completely a man they have hated since he announced in 2015. Conviction in the Senate allows them to strip him of all former President perks. No Secret Service protection, no government paid staff, no inside access to documents and information.
After conviction by the Senate it will be open season on Trump by the DOJ, IRS, and every state attorney general who can fabricate a court case. A conviction in the Senate for inciting insurrection even opens up the prospect of the Biden DOJ charging and trying him for sedition and treason with conviction resulting in the death penalty. Would they go that far in order to demonstrate their power?
And hence, the rumors circulating of his reluctance to serve as a prop over this whole farce.
Wow, hasn’t heard that. That’s huge. Thanks.

BiteMe's amnesty plan doesn't give them citizenship in time to effect 2024.
B I N G O.
If he's convicted in the Senate, they will expect him to go the way of Richard Nixon and withdraw from society. They don't want a viable Trump commenting on everything that Biden does.

True, and Trump’s appeal goes beyond just the traditional Republican base, to include hispanics and a not so insignificant percentage of the black vote.
Actually my mistake, her comments were towards Cruz and Hawley, not Trump and impeachment. But for the same reasons, she knows what could blowup in their faces at any hearings.
“Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein appeared to signal Tuesday that she would not support the removal or expulsion of Republican Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas or Josh Hawley of Missouri for challenging the Electoral College certification, an apparent break with many in her party.”
I just don’t see 17 GOP Senators being stupid enough to join the Jim Jones club. The will to survive politically is just too strong for most. Most are smart enough to know they would be walking dead men politically. Romney though would be chugging down the KoolAid.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
YES.
I miss Art Bell.
Sorry about that. Murkowski and Collins are women so them having gonads would be inappropriate.
I’m conflicted.....
The guy’s a billionaire. He reluctantly accepted SS protection vs. his own team. His team is better. He doesn’t need SS. They can go get whores in South America. Who wants more government scum?
Love that tune.
Democrats never accept others using their plenary power to block them as being legitimate.
