It is appalling to see how Nancy Pelosi’s House of Representatives and Chuck Schumer’s Senate (with some quisling GOP backing in both chambers) proceed to impeach a man who is no longer President (the fraud-laced circumstances under which we are aware of). This kangaroo-court farce against Donald Trump reminds me of an obscure event from the late 9th century, namely the posthumous trial of Pope Formosus. According to Wikipedia:
“The Cadaver Synod (also called the Cadaver Trial; Latin: Synodus Horrenda) is the name commonly given to the ecclesiastical trial of Pope Formosus, who had been dead for about 7 months, in the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome during January 897. The trial was conducted by Pope Stephen VI, the successor to Formosus' successor, Pope Boniface VI. Stephen had Formosus' corpse exhumed and brought to the papal court for judgment. He accused Formosus of perjury and of having acceded to the papacy illegally. At the end of the trial, Formosus was pronounced guilty and his papacy retroactively declared null.”

I agree. Trump’s politically lifeless persona and complete bankruptcy is what Nancy seeks. She has no clue how much support Trump has.
They can’t impeach him, it’s an unconstitutional bill of attainder. The GOP Senators and Chief Justice should simply cite the Constitution and refuse to participate.
With more enthusiasm than they used to ignore evidence of election fraud.
I was thinking of the “Restoration” of the English Monarchy following the English Civil War. After returning from foreign exile, Charles II had some of the Round Head leaders exhumed from their graves so their corpses could be punished for executing his father (Charles I).
The same sort of thing happened to Oliver Cromwell.
Damnatio memoriae
The Chief Justice? Roberts? You actually expect that reprobate to adhere to the Constitution?
The same sort of thing happened to Oliver Cromwell.
