They can’t impeach him, it’s an unconstitutional bill of attainder. The GOP Senators and Chief Justice should simply cite the Constitution and refuse to participate.

I was thinking of the “Restoration” of the English Monarchy following the English Civil War. After returning from foreign exile, Charles II had some of the Round Head leaders exhumed from their graves so their corpses could be punished for executing his father (Charles I).
