After being a registered Republican my entire life (I'm 58y/o), I re-registered today and can now call myself a registered Independent. The best thing about this is, I can now give the RNC the middle finger.

This is an official message from the California Secretary of State regarding your voter registration.
Our records indicate that you submitted a voter registration application on the Secretary of State’s website. Your application will be processed within 3 to 5 days. Once complete, your county elections office will mail you a Voter Notification Card.
After your application is processed, you may check your voter registration status using the Secretary of State’s My Voter Status website at voterstatus.sos.ca.gov
Since the primaries are open there is no downside to registering Independent (or American Independent for that matter).
Ooo the RNC Fluffers gonna give you a hard time. From down on their knees.
I reregistered as an independent back in 2016 due to the way the GOP treated Trump. My spouse reregistered yesterday.
Not a traitor..
Not a republican..
Did republicans stop illegals?
Did republicans stop fubocare?
Who drafted and passed the so called “patriot act”?
Did republicans prosecute those involved with fisagate?
Who drafted and passed medicare part d?
Who interfered with trump’s cabinet selections?
Who put logs in the road of the Trump agenda?
Trump was OUR president, not theirs.
They made that point crystal clear.
No, I am not a republican.
I am not exactly proud to be a Republican right now and I thought about going “I” to send a message, but it is too bad the left wing of the Democrat party didn’t throw up their hands and go independent after Trump was sworn in in 2017. If they had done so, Trump would have coasted into a second term and the GOP would now control both houses of Congress. We would have a lock on the Supreme Court for the foreseeable future. Oh, well.
but you are still paying for CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the lamestream media. Better yet, cut the cord, subscribe to OAN.
Let’s face it. MONEY makes the world go ‘round and not voting.
I will too. I read Independents are now 40%, and GOP only 25% and Dems 30%.
The future is registered Independents. Maybe we no longer need this “two party system” after all. What’s the point?
I changed to Independent too. I did it to send a message to Republican leadership. I’m in California where it doesn’t matter what you’re registered as for the primaries, but even if it did, I could always change my registration back. I am so tired of Republican “leaders” who spout conservative values and do nothing. I am angry that so few Republicans fought to reclaim the stolen votes of the people who have supported them.
Exactly. Perfection is the enemy of the good. I understand Kevin’s frustration, but most of it is due to our sitting on our asses and not bracing every candidate before they get elected.
I’m in CA and I did it a few days ago. Screw the RNC.
“Welcome to the party, pal”
IMO, the strategy MUST be Primary-ing the RINO's and rebuilding the GOP with Trumpsters. Anything else is a waste of time and money. This was the problem back when the Tea Party was big. The Tea party got a few bones thrown at them but the RINO's held their ground.
This conversation will be talked about non stop for 2 more years, but the plan MUST be to take over the GOP and not strike out on your own. How many remember the "Bull Moose" Party?
I de-registered as well but I did not change parties. The hell with them.
Me too. And I have the same reason.
I’m of a similar mind. I one upped the poster and unregistered to vote. I refuse to participate in the sham any longer. I’ll reregister when I believe elections are fair again.
Agreed.
Agreed.
There is no ‘republican’ or ‘democrat’...only Uniparty.
Republican office holders have their minority role assigned to them by the oligarchy. 2016 caught the oligarchy off guard. As the 2020 election proved writ large, they don’t plan to let that happen again no matter the cost.
Same. The 2020 election proved beyond a doubt that voting is a sham. I refuse to participate. I will reregister once I believe it is fair again.
