CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS SAYS HE WILL NOT ATTEND IMPEACHMENT TRIAL OF DONALD TRUMP NEXT WEEK!
He says that the Constitution requires him to sit in and moderate the impeachment of a sitting president. Since the trial does not concern a sitting president he will not be attending.

This means the proceedings in the Senate will not be an impeachment trial and therefore can have no real purpose. Indeed, since the matter involved a private citizen, it becomes a Bill of Attainder (passing a law that involves a single private citizen), an unconstitutional act by a legislative body.

Naturally the Senate will proceed anyway, and their lackey media will declare it all legal. Then the matter will have to go to SCOTUS.
