The number of tennis players quarantined after their arrival in Australia on flights that had passengers who tested positive for the coronavirus has risen to 72, angering players who are unable to train for the sport’s first major tournament of 2021.
A positive case, which was not from a member of the athletes’ entourages, was reported late Sunday from a third flight that landed Saturday in Melbourne and carried 25 players and their entourages among 58 passengers from Doha, Qatar, the site of qualifying tournaments. Originally, 47 players were told to quarantine after four coronavirus cases were found on two other charter flights bringing players, staff, officials and media to Australia for the tournament, which starts Feb. 8. It was pushed back three weeks because of the virus.
“The 25 players on the flight will not be able to leave their hotel room for 14 days and until they are medically cleared. They will not be eligible for [practice],” the Australian Open said in a statement.

If they put on black lives matter shirts they will become immune and can get back to practicing...
Science!
Did they call you to stand in for someone?
The Woke solution would be to randomly match each player to another but instead of actually playing tennis, just award the match to the player with darkest skin color, win-win and everyone feels good about themselves.
Ping
This is why I always fly on a different flight from my entourage....
The open sounds like it’s now closed.

I’m sorry (not), but
LOL!
I hear they all get massive sums just for being there, let them suck it up. Crybabies.
Awesome revenge for Djokovic and the others who played at the much-panned Adria Tour. They’ll be the only ones able to play, lol.
(Hoping my boy Thiem, who was there, has immunity, too and can kick Novak’s ass this time.)
