I love a lot of the stuff released in the 50s.The 50s and 60s,combined,are the best era for many different kinds of music.Pop,rock,easy listening,instrumentals,folk...thanks to my amazing library system and CD burners I have a collection of over 5,000 songs on CD...98% of which are from the 50s and 60s.

That’s because pop music then generally reflected the happiness, decency, wholesomeness and overall prosperity of when America was still America.

Why use CDs? You can fit hundreds of thousands of songs on a USB stick.

Several of the saved stations on my car radio are oldies stations. But now some 80s are being called oldies.
