Major League Baseball reportedly informed teams Monday that they should expect to start spring training on time and prepare for a full 162-game campaign. The league also outlined guidelines for letting fans into games, not requiring vaccination checks or negative test results but enforcing social-distancing guidelines and other spread-prevention measures.M
USA TODAY’s Bob Nightengale reported Monday that the Major League Baseball Players Association “vigorously” fought against playing anything less than a full season. The two sides bickered back and forth for weeks last spring trying to negotiate the framework for the 2020 season in a spat that spilled into the public sphere. While such a display has managed to stay behind closed doors, the MLBPA wasn’t budging in its demand for full pay after accepting prorated salaries last year.
Fans will be allowed to attend games this season with teams required to spread them out using “pod” seating where groups are separated from one another by at least six feet, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reported Monday night. Fans will have to wear a mask everywhere but their seats, hand-washing stations must be widely accessible and lines to get into the ballpark will abide by social distancing.

And not a single f... will be given.
Stay away from the big cities this year, folks.
Enough said on that topic.
Hi, MR. Would like to remind everyone that Garp Brooks full-sale, sold-out, non-social-distancing, non-masking, mega-arena concert (sold over 65,000 tickets in 75 minutes) is still ON for Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 27, 62 days before Xiden’s “100 Days of Masques” ends — from Xiden’s upcoming puppet-state Installation Day speech. That is all.
Hmmm. Let me think? Nope. Not even half an ‘f’. NO MO PRO SPORTS. Most college stuff the same. Get woke, go broke.
Nothing something I’ll waste a second on other than to share my boycott here.
The “pandemic” should be over by then on Feb. 27 because media will give Biden credit for winning the “War on coronavirus”.
I live about 5 miles from a nice Minor League ballpark.
I can leave my house and be parked and siting in my seat
with a hotdog and a beer in 15 minutes.
No games there at all in 2020.
I will be there if they open up in 2021.
Exactly!
‘Nothing something I’ll waste a second on other than to share my boycott here.
‘nothing’ from ‘something’ leaves you with something...
you guys sure like to come on these sports threads and preen about not giving a fook...
one of our collective goals should be to bankrupt NFL, MLB and NBA.
I don't agree. The UK and possibly a big chunk of Kali -- at the bare-ass minimum -- will still be under lockdown on Feb. 27. It's simply not possible to believe there will not be Kali-to-LV junket flights for Garp.
Buble was supposed to play Chase in SF on Feb. 8 and responsed to the London Breeder lockdown by cancelling his entire freaking US winter tour.
Garp Live OTOH is represented by a fairly maverick Nashville promoter who just might bully LV Mayor Wiggity-wack and NV Gov. Triple-Chin into permitting Garp to play. And if Brooks can pull it off, COVID is OVER.
There is zero chance 70,000 people in Allegiant are going to sit there masked up, as there is now way to police that; not only that, but there will be video galore of the Garp sing-alongs-sans-masks:
"I got friends in COVID places /
where the vaccine stings /
but the beer chases /
my COVID awayyyy / It'll be ok."
Maybe even followed by the forbidden "4th verse"; and it will all be the middle finger in the face of Xiden's Installation Speech "100 Days of Mask" mandate.
Well I don’t and I cannot see any credible conservative defending them and giving them an audience and lining their pockets with money.
Naive to think 2021 is going to be normal as the 2020 storm going out to sea. We are in the eye of a hurricane. Normal may never be attainable again as we once knew it.
They stood with BLM and so does the PGA. I’m out.
Well I was already out but I suppose I could be even more out.
So how many years will this illegal lockdown be?
Even NBA is toning it down this season. They’ve realized that their social justice have alienated half of their fans so they’re finally shutting up about it. I’m not watching NBA though but I stopped being a fan shortly after Jordan Era had ended.
Too late.
I heard the baseball business lost billions of dollars last season. The San Diego Padres were said to have lost about $100 million on operations last year. These are staggering amounts. Baseball teams don’t have deep enough pockets to.absorb such losses again.
Baseball operated at a huge loss because of not being able.to sell tickets and have fans at the games. Even though players were paid proportionally less salaries for a short season, they still lost a ton of money.
A key question will.be how many fans show up. How many people out there are afraid to go anywhere because the virus could get us at any time?
