The video is crap. He is right about the CIA and the Islamist Jihadi’s they armed. (There were not the YPG and the YPJ)
The YPG and YPJ came about later, about the time of the ISIS siege of Kobane.
YPG and YPJ were trained by the PKK to defend themselves against ISIS. The YPG/YPJ (later the SDF) had Christian elements from the beginning. I was told there were about 22,000 Christian Converts in Northern Syria in a 5 year span. I have maps of the region showing which communities were Christian, Muslim, Arab, Yazidi. (both for Iraq and N. Syria)
Almost NO US news sources ever got anything right about Northern Syria. That has not changed. The only people who knew what was happening lived it, I knew/know some of them.
Our Military that helped the SDF battle ISIS held the Kurds and their allies in high respect as soldiers and their honesty.
I lived this for 6-7 years (Not in Syria).
There were Antifa elements who went to fight in Syria. Most around the time they were about to take Raqqa, ISIS capital.
My friends there told me that Antifa was crazy. They were trained in the YPG/YPJ training camps, but when they actually met forces they were to fight with, the Kurds realized that ISIS was Nuts. They came equipped with John Faulk masks. As if war was a theater game. The SDF separated most of them from the real battles, for fear they would get some good people killed. I had conversations about this back then.
So. Don’t place too much confidence in the impact of Antifa on the Syrian War nor what Antifa learned from Kurds about being politically radical. (The N. Syrian Kurds are not what you think they are.)

Kurds knew better than anyone alive how truly evil that ISIS were. Those remaining women and young girls that largely held off ISIS until Obozo finally brought the B1-B’s in to destroy ISIS’s armor, artillery and other heavy weapons. They knew full well what their fate would have been. More than one of them sacrificed themselves by blowing up everybody around them before they were butchered.
I don’t know you. But I had a close friend near Kobane (and some others) that I had almost daily contact with for over 6 years. I know what happened in N. Syria.
What happened before Kobane was CIA supported Jihadi’s that spent a lot of money and accomplished almost nothing.
Obama never partnered with the Kurds. Trump supported them directly and the combination of Kurds bravery and US technology and intelligence ended ISIS. They lost over 10,000 Kurds (& allies).
Have been told my friend is dying of cancer (if she is not already gone). Have not heard from here since last May. Very sad. But I came to understand most of that through her eyes and she came to understand us from some of my friends.
That is a 6 year period of my life that I will always remember.
Antifa was present in N. Syria, but made no major contribution to the battle against ISIS.
