Amazon is penalizing sellers of wrongthink books. Even if they sold a banned book years ago, sellers are now being punished.
*I am not the seller who wrote the post on the Amazon site.*

FYI
Restaurant reviewers are punishing wrong think restaurants.
Trip advisor is punishing wrong think reviewers.

I’ve heard it called “Pixelnacht”

On top of this, publishers of a lot of titles are cutting deals to restrict secondary market sales of their books as used, raising your prices and limiting what I can sell. Marvel for example I don’t bother to try and list any longer, third party sellers are simply blocked through corporate dealings from listing without presenting a recent wholesale invoice from the publisher. This is a means of subverting secondary sales allowances in the Copyright Act.
They can probably get away with most of what they want in censorship but I don’t understand how this is not price fixing and anti-competitive practice.

I sell books on amazon and what is said in the opening post is true. It’s been happening for several years. When amazon decides to ban a book, rather than notifying the seller and taking the listing down, they give the seller a defect. And they even give you a defect for a book you sold years ago and still have the title in your inactive inventory with a quantity of zero. It’s happened to me two or three times. Now I delete inventory listings with zero quantity, but you never know when a book that was safe to list is banned until you get the warning from amazon that your account is in danger.

I'm sure the Biteme administration will get right on it. /s

We're going to have to create an alternate infrastructure. But even that will be difficult as banks and merchant services start to cut us off.
I hope states will start doing something about this, like banning sales by businesses like Amazon that restrict publication or just adding a surtax, like 10% to fund an infrastructure for alternate sellers.
Otherwise we'll be back to samizdat printed on mimeograph machines.
