Lady Gaga has been picked to sing the national anthem at President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, according to a report Thursday.
The New York-born superstar — who campaigned for Biden during the election — has been confirmed to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the swearing-in ceremony next Wednesday, the inaugural committee told Variety.
Fellow New Yorker Jennifer Lopez is another star name involved, although details of her performance were not revealed.

LYRICS TO THE BLACK NATIONAL ANTHEM
by James Weldon Johnson
FIRST STANZA
Lift Every Voice and Sing, till earth and heaven ring,
Ring with the harmonies of liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise, high as the listening skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.
Sing a song full of faith that the dark past has taught us,
Sing a song full of hope that the present has brought us;
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
Let us march on till victory won.
SECOND STANZA
Stony the road we trod, bitter the chastening rod,
Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;
Yet with a steady beat, have not our weary feet,
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered,
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered;
Out from the gloomy past, till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our star is cast.
THIRD STANZA
God of our weary years, God of our silent tears,
Thou who has brought us thus far on the way;
Thou who hast by Thy might, led us into the light,
Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee,
Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee.
Shadowed beneath Thy hand, may we forever stand,
True to our God, true to our native land.
Lady Gaga to sing National Anthem at Joe Biden’s inauguration
Would that be the American National Anthem?
That’s been in the Baptist Hymnal for decades. I knew it was written by two black brothers — actual brothers, not “bros”. I liked the words, and had know idea it would be snagged to be called the black national anthem. I thought it was about the Pilgrims, Founding Fathers, etc.
I’m not participating. She can sing topless, but I won’t be watching.
I can visualize all Americans being forced to pledge loyalty to the new communist regime and their new national anthem.
“Please rise for our Corporate Anthem”
“She’s also a great capitalist...”
I think it was her first interview with David Letterman (back when I used to like him). I had heard about her, but didn’t know her music or anything about her.
Her outfit was goofy, but her business sense impressed me. Letterman commented about how she showed up so early for the show to rehearse.
And for some show she thought her dancers should have better costumes and she and her team worked through the night to design and make them. (IIRC she does the designs).
I can’t say that I listen to her music or her politics. But that interview was interesting.

Above is a an old video of her on some talent show before she took on the showmanship “Lady Gaga”. Nice voice and piano playing.
Not my President!
Nor anybody else’s president he’s just a shiny hub cap on a Yugo the party is driving.
Maybe the National Guard will arrest her along with Biden!
She’s way too old for Biteme.
These are communists, progressives. They will more than likely be singing the ‘State Anthem of the Soviet Union’ with a large video portrait of Vladimir Lenin against a Hammer & Sickle red state flag in the background.
Rosie The Bitch O’Donnell.
Freak show and why sing something patriotic....doesn’t burn loot murder have their own anthem....
"Lift up your voice and sing" Clyburn just introduced legislation to change our national anthem to this:

Aw shucks. I’m going to miss it.
I volunteered for a root canal that day.
All ten people will clap.
Dittos
Will she wear her meat dress?
That's what Martha MacCallum said.
