I live where they have an historic "marketplace" every year in a very historic fort.
It is THE place to be if you want to see creatively crazy ass outfits from the 1600s to the 1800s. :D
If you get back in the weeds, there are mountain man rendezvous gatherings. (What’s the plural of rendezvous?). Lots of trappers and black powder enthusiasts. One guy had a hat made out of about a dozen rats, tails and all. Noses sewn together at the crown, tails hanging all around the edge.
