Stay in the party, in the primary, vote for a strong candidate, not a RINO. Abandoning the party means abandoning the ability to influence who actually is running in the November election

TENNESSEE: I called to check on this last week. There are no party affiliations in the state. Everyone is the same. The only time a party comes in to play is for primary elections, and they ask you if you want a Republican or Democrat ballot.
I changed mine online last week, but need to call the GOP office, per your suggestion. Thank you.
I fixed it, as of January 6, 2021, I am no longer a registered voter. F em all!

You don’t register with a political party in Texas. Only matters during a primary. If there is a run off. The rest of the time it doesn’t matter what party you are in.

Not all states allow the ability to vote outside your “party” in the primaries.
No can do in ‘Bama. You just register to vote, you don’t register to a party. When I go to vote they offer me a Dem or Republican ballot.
My husband and I changed our affilitation to independent in November. I just went to the board of elections website for my county, printed the form and sent it in.
Interestingly enough, I got a call this morning from the RNC. I told the woman that we changed to independent because the RNC let us down and that we will never send money to them again. I also told her that we will join the new patriot party once it’s established. (I would go back to the RNC someday if it cleaned up and returned to basic principles)
