If they list the Elvis for Tennessee, I might have to call them.

I am very surprised that the Horseshoe sandwich wasn’t the winner for Illinois, and the Reuben for Nebraska.

"I believe that all anyone really wants in this life is to sit in peace and eat a sandwich." Some people do.
Others will not be happy unless they are telling other people what kind of sandwich they can have, how to eat it, where to eat it and NO DRINKS ALLOWED.
Then they change the rules every five minutes so no one is doing things Right.
Then they can punish the evil people who are not doing as told.

I live half the year in CT and the warm months in ME and the top states' sandwiches totally suck! I hate lobster!
Would prefer TN and TX sammies.

California -- Langers Deli? No way.
This is the place: TKB Deli - Indio
Located just off I-10 as you are entering Indo area from Arizona, is TKB (The Kids Business). I could not say which of their many sandwiches is the best, but over all, I'd say this place makes the best sandwiches of any deli I have ever been to.
Traveling often from Phoenix to Long Beach (and back), TKB, is a must stop.

“...the sandwiches that have stood the test of time.”
I looked at Arizona. The “housemade mozzarella” was introduced in 2005.

Love the cubano sandwich in Miami.

Legendary sandwich was a Carnegie Deli corned beef or pastrami. Massive 5-6 inches of meat at the center. One could feed a family of 8 with doggie bags for all :)

Flo’s Hotdogs has to be right up there for Maine- not really a sandwhich, but a lunch meal anyways- world famous sauce- it’s just a tiny little shack, but usually there are lines every lunch hour- people order 4-5-6 or even more-

And of course for Texas they pick a sandwich 90 percent of the state has never heard of and wouldn’t order.

I bet in Washington DC, it is the Ham Sandwich.
There are so many lawyers there that they need something to indict.

The Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, if done right, is the king of all sandwiches. Right here in East Tennessee we have a chef who moved here from PA and he makes as good a PCS sandwich as any of many I've had in PA.
Sharing honors for the Number One spot are the various Bar B Q sandwiches where the meat is cooked out back in large cookers which smoke and heat the meats. After thosw two top Sandwiches, the humble BLT is second.

WTH is that thing for Texas? Never heard or seen any like it in all my life.
Texas = a good bbq beef brisket sandwich or a cheese burger.
