WTH is that thing for Texas? Never heard or seen any like it in all my life.
Texas = a good bbq beef brisket sandwich or a cheese burger.
Use lard. Key key key ingredient. I found some at Target. Much nicer than I remember growing up. I think they’ve purified it some since I was a kid. It’s amazing. I’m not afraid to use it anymore. By the way, I didn’t use a mixer for the dough. I kneaded it by hand the old fashioned way like my Grandma taught me. Sure is a work out! It is 100% worth the effort!
We just had Cuban sandwiches again the day after Christmas. So darn good! I would make them again soon, but I’m really trying to be good about carbs right now.
Well, all the Blue States are Poop Sandwiches.
It’s an ad for 50 restaurants.
Kentucky here. And I have never had the “famous hot brown” that always makes it on these lists as representing our State. Don’t know anyone who has.
The elites of the state just making sure the elites get their kudos.
The hot brown looks mighty good.
Really? I’m from San Antonio. And a gordita is some sort of taco.
Not a sandwich.
Guess maybe one day I might try it. That is a very elite expensive place. So will need to be homemade, laf.
Dino’s Subs in Arlington, Tx. Hot pastrami and provelone. There’s a reason they’ve been around for 40 years.
RTFA
Disagree on the Kansas one. Best sandwich in the state is the Z-Man at Joe’s KC Barbecue. Beef brisket, provolone, and a pair on onion rings on a roll with Joe’s KC sauce. Died and gone to heaven time.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to be cruel! It is quite the creation!
Oh, and to be very cruel, (sorry again!) you should smell the bread as it bakes! Heaven, I tell ya! I bet your Grandma’s biscuits were out of this world!
It is nearing dinner time. Maybe it’s ok to be hungry! ;)
Exactly why I make My own. Every Bar/Restaurant puts 1000 Island Dressing on them !!! Did I order a SALAD !?!? NO I DID NOT !!! And they never DRAIN the Sauerkraut and then the bread is soggy and Kraut Juice is dripping everywhere, Arms, Shirts, Tie and such !!!
1/4 lb Corned Beef-thinly sliced
1/4 lb Pastrami-thinly sliced
1/4-1/3 lb Swiss Cheese-Medium Sliced
Sauerkraut-Drained well & warmed through
Good Quality Rye Bread
Butter
Place Swiss to cover both slices of Rye, divide Kraut between sides placing on the Swiss, place meats on Kraut one type each side, top one side with remaining Swiss, carefully flip double Swiss side on top of the other side, Butter topside of bread. In a Medium Hot Pan place Butter side down and cook till golden brown, Butter remaining side and flip over carefully and cover pan leaving a steam vent on one side, again cook till golden brown. Serve with Quality Kosher Dill Pickles, choice of Chips & Your favorite Beverage. When finished take a Nap.
Thank You God for sending Big Tiny's to save Me !!! Now I can Stop in about 1.5 miles from the House and get REAL BBQ in Town any day of the week.
