How much of the past year was about the actual coronavirus rather than a political weapon to damage President Trump and remove him from office? The answer is obvious.
How much of the past year was about the actual coronavirus rather than a political weapon to damage President Trump and remove him from office? The answer is obvious. We have had viral pandemics before, including a seasonal influenza, without mask mandates, social distancing, business closures, travel restrictions, and hysterical media coverage.
Much of the hair-on-fire reporting is over cases and deaths. As I have previously written, a positive test is not the same as a case, and a death with COVID is different than death from COVID.
What if these definitions suddenly change in the upcoming weeks, once Joe Biden is in the White House, creating the impression that getting rid of the Orange Man caused the case and fatality numbers to suddenly plummet, not because of anything Biden did, but simply because he isn’t Trump?
Rewriting history is a popular pastime for the left. Just ask George Orwell or observe current events including the social media purge and cancel culture. How might this play out with COVID?

Start with testing — the PCR test which is overly sensitive. From that bastion of right-wing conspiracy, the New York Times,
The PCR test amplifies genetic matter from the virus in cycles; the fewer cycles required, the greater the amount of virus, or viral load, in the sample. The greater the viral load, the more likely the patient is to be contagious.
This number of amplification cycles needed to find the virus, called the cycle threshold, is never included in the results sent to doctors and coronavirus patients, although it could tell them how infectious the patients are.
In three sets of testing data that include cycle thresholds, compiled by officials in Massachusetts, New York and Nevada, up to 90 percent of people testing positive carried barely any virus, a review by The Times found.
Is the pope a communist?
If you test less...the infection rate will lessen. If you tell the hospitals their angle to testing dead-people as positive will no longer get you ‘extra’ cash through the government, then most all deaths will revert back to plain pneumonia, strokes, heart-attacks, and regular car accidents. Within six weeks of Biden’s arrival, I expect the infection-rate in all states to drop by 50-percent. You can even invent some name for it (the Biden-Jesus-miracle syndrome).
If we’re really good and unite and heal behind Joe and Camela the virus will disappear pretty quick. (Hate to go conspiracy here but just a little fed up after almost a year of this.)
Part of my job as ER nurse is to review covid cases and tests and to notify people of results. The vast majority of the people that test positive for Covid came in with Covid symptoms. What is more common is people coming in with Covid symptoms and testing negative. I think false negatives are probably far more common than false positives. Most of the positive people have actual Covid symptoms. They are almost certainly contagious. The people with symptoms bad enough to get admitted are a whole different story. The average Length Of Stay seems to be about 2 weeks with some that have been here for over a month. I guarantee we aren’t gettingthat. Off of Covid with LOS’s like tgat.
Does Howdy Doody have chestnuts?
We aren’t getting rich off of extended length of stays like that is what I meant to type out on my phone.
Under Biden, the PCR cycles will be mandated down to 2, rather than 40, which detects a single dead COVID virus fragment that went up your nose while wondering around the supermarket.
And the CDC will only be allowed to report as a case, someone who has tested positive 10X in a row (at level 2) and is has been admitted to an ICU.
“He’s a God, after wiping out the dreaded virus, he will lower the planet’s ocean levels by the power of his outstretched hand”.
They are using covid to bring us down so it’s not going away under Biden. It was viewed as an opportunity by the participants at the World Economic Forum. They called it The Great Reset.
Only in the Blue states, the Red states are going to get hammered.
I’m an ER nurse in a city that is full of Covid. I’ve seen a ton of it since this started a year ago. We were slammed in wave 1. We got a little respite in summer. We are slammed again in wave 2. I’m not here to BS anyone. Covid is real. It’s not going to magically disappear because Joe Biden was elected. It will start to wane however by spring as the number of vaccinated people increases. In my opinion and my opinion is probably worth listening to on this matter at least.
From the wayback machine and the 2009-2010 flu pandemic:
“As the outbreak spread, CDC began receiving reports of school closures and implementation of community-level social distancing measures meant to slow the spread of disease. School administrators and public health officials were following their pandemic plans and doing everything they could to slow the spread of illness. (Social distancing measures are meant to increase distance between people. Measures include staying home when ill unless to seek medical care, avoiding large gatherings, telecommuting, and implementing school closures).”
You remember being ordered to lock down during the Obama/Biden pandemic?
“On April 26, 2009, the United States Government determined that a public health emergency existed nationwide; CDC’s Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) began releasing 25% of the supplies in the stockpile that could be used to protect and treat influenza. This included 11 million regimens of antiviral drugs, and personal protective equipment including over 39 million respiratory protection devices (masks and respirators), gowns, gloves and face shields, to states (allocations were based on each state’s population).”
You remember being ordered to wear masks during the Obama/Biden pandemic?
“In all, between April 2009 when 2009 H1N1 flu first emerged and April 2010, CDC held 60 related media events – 39 press briefings and 22 telebriefings – for a total of more than 35,000 participants. CDC also hosted its first ever two-day workshop for the news media on the subjects of both 2009 H1N1 influenza and seasonal influenza in late August.
Originally conceived to include 12 members of the news media, the attendance grew to over 40 journalists from national, regional and local news outlets representing radio, television, newspapers, magazines, and online news media. Speakers at the event included the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the CDC Director, influenza experts, vaccine safety experts, and laboratory experts.”
You remember the media going crazy 24/7 over the Obama/Biden pandemic?

I think you nailed it concerning re-calibrating the testing parameters and reporting requirements (or lack there of).
Also, keep an eye out for the flu to make a “surprising” rebound as well as every other fatal ailment that COVID miraculously held at bay.
But in reality they really don’t care, their goal was achieved. The MSM will just stop reporting on it.
I’d like to know how 2009 - 2010 H1N1 (a pandemic per CDC) cases hit our hospitals, compared to Covid19. Numbers and H1N1-related death rates.
I’d like to know how 2016 - 2019 flu cases hit our hospitals, compared to Covid19. Numbers and flu-related death rates.
How much flu are you getting? I hear that the number of flu cases is down this year.
Remember. Even without symptoms, you can spread COVID. Obey!
Remember. Even after vaccination, you can spread COVID. Obey!
Remember. At any republican event, you can spread COVID. Obey!
We’ve never seen anything like this. The only flu pandemic that was worse was Spanish influenza. Every flu season is rough. 2018 was especially bad because the vaccine was only 25% effective. I don’t remember 2009 as being too bad but I had a lot going on then. I think it’s safe to say, we have never seen as many flu cases as we have Covid cases. We aren’t seeing much flu this year so far. That is easily explained and I consider it a blessing. We are testing for it. New Covid tedts test for flu A/B, Covid, and RSV with one swab and results are back in 1 hour.
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm
“Outpatient Illness: ILINet
The percentage of visits to a health care provider for influenza-like illness (ILI) in week 53 is at 1.6% for the second week in a row. This is below the national baseline of 2.6%. ILI surveillance may be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and should be interpreted with caution.”
IOW, the stats are crap.
It seems to be. I have seen plenty of negative flu tests next to a positive Covid results. I don’t have any actual numbers as I’m not privy to flu numbers but I know it’s low and I know or a fact that Covid cases are sky high. The past month was, hopefully, the wave 2 peak for us. I’m in Ohio.
