Fox News Beaten in Ratings by Both CNN and MSNBC for First Time in 20 Years

Both CNN and MSNBC scored a ratings win over Fox News for the first time in 20 years on Friday, January 8, according to Nielsen, via Mediaite.

Friday night saw CNN average 4.36 million total viewers, and 1.31 million in the key demographic of viewers aged 25-54.

This was closely followed by MSNBC, with 4.32 million total viewers and 838,000 in that same demographic.

Fox came in third place, with 2.98 million total viewers and 513,000 in the 25-54 demographic.

Newsweek has contacted Fox News for comment.

The moves the Murdochs are making in daytime will be a disaster. It will not bring viewers back.

The new 7pm show is really an open audition to see who will replace Laura in a year.

They will dump Laura and buy out her contract when they find her replacement.

The Murdochs reaped what they sowed and it will never get better for them.

For years now, Hollywood studios have accepted reduced profits in order to make woke movies that no one watches. As long as they can get one or two blockbusters based on comic books into theaters, they'll crank out dozens of left-wing screeds that might get an Oscar nod or two and will be seen by no one.

That's part of corporate America now - companies will accept fewer profits if it means they can stay on the good side of liberals, who will punish them viciously if they get out of line. Conservatives haven't figured out how to make corporations fear them the way liberals have. Fox seems to have decided that it's worth losing viewership in order to keep liberals from screeching at them even more - all conservatives will do is walk away.

Guess seriously pissing off more than half of your audience isn’t such a great career move after all. Who woulda thunk it?

Ditto Sandra..lost her halfway decent 9 AM slot following
F&F and got moved to 1 PM.

What FNC apparently doesn’t yet realize is the only people watching at 1 or 3 PM EST are old, retired people - who are roughly 95% conservative. Putting two of your most liberal hosts on at that time..not too smart.

I predict they’ll both be gone within 6 months, max, because their ratings will be absolutely dismal.
