Are you having trouble posting comments on Breitbart?

Posted on 01/11/2021 7:22:30 PM PST by MAGA2017

Is there something going on now with Breitbart? Maybe its just me. Whenever I try to post a comment on a Breitbart article I get a message saying, "Hold on, this is waiting to be approved by Breitbart News Network.".

I'm not posting anything that's remotely inflammatory or obscene.

Anyone else here encountering the same issue?

Likely hoping to avoid shutdown.

I’ve seen the site attacked not for its articles but the comments section. Who the heck is posting there? Could be anyone.

So let’s say you want the Feds or a browser company or advertiser to shut down and destroy a website, go in and post comments encouraging violence. Then, as we saw with Parler, the site can be taken down or later be subjected to criminal prosecution for encouraging violence.

Hate speech is non speech.

Freedom is slavery.

The comments on BB do get a bit wild at times, personal attacks and so on. Since the election there seem to be to be a lot more lefties posting making snide comments, mocking conservatives and President Trump.

Eventually, Disqus will ban Breitbart and others. But for now they make way too much $$$ off ads from them

Yes, just today. Two comments awaiting review...seriously not inflammatory or even particularly political.

The problem is that there is NO regulation on speech, which is why private and public companies that provide communications platforms can regulate speech to whatever norms they want to apply, if they have Admin Control over their enterprise.

However, I do see an opening of attack by ‘commercial’ victims of these tech tyrants. And that is in the area of “commerce”. If they take actions that are deemed commercially punitive resulting in harm and injury with no basis of contractual violations by the alleged offending party, then they should be able to be sued.

My dog sh*t NJ digital rag eliminated comment sections. Even in a libtard forever blue state, the comments were ALWAYS heavily weighed by rational voices and ripped apart the BS agenda of fake news media and the tyrants from Trenton. Now,the left has all say in everything. This in itself will turn people into sheep especially the kids.

The stupid kids will always be stupid, but kids also don’t like being told what to do. We have to use that against the commies.

There's a ton of wisdom there. Why assume the role of defense, or that we are dealing with equals. Assume the role of parent or boss. That's what the liberals do, and conservatives submit.

Just be bossy, and do not ever relinquish the superior position.

All my comments, no matter how innocuous, are put on hold. Several have been deleted.

I have a lot of trouble just trying to save Breithbart articles. Too much advertising crap and messages on the screen. have to eliminate many of them just to get a halfway clear look at the article.

There has got to be a better way to show the featured articles so that they can be read and saved.

I know that Andy wouldn’t have let his site get so cluttered up. Heard him speak at a CPAC convention in DC a few months before he died. He was outstanding.

Let’s keep his standards (high, intelligent and well organized) and his site the same.

That’s not news to me. Whenever I posted I could never read my post because it was being “reviewed”. I don’t try to post there any more.

What I’ve noticed after making a thoughtful comment is that they will dump tens if not hundreds of comments (usually of only one line) all at the same time — just like the improbable ballot dumps of the so-called adjudicated ballots requiring human review. 100,000 of them can’t occur at exactly the same moment.

But the purpose of the comment dumps is to push any comment of substance out of sight.

Same here. Often even totally innocent stuff gets ‘looked at’. One time I isolated it (by trial and error) to the word “drag”, not “drag queen”, but something like “dragged along”. So they were sensitive.

So yesterday, I also tried an innocent comment, it got put on hold like you guys. So I did what I did with ‘drag’ and cut up the comment and posted pieces of it to find where the ‘offending’ word was. Answer: Nope, ever attempt at posting pieces of it was blocked. Then I looked at the most recent comments, and they were from 16 minutes ago on a very active article. So no comments in the past 16 minutes, but tons of comments just prior.

Bottom line - they’re pre-screening all comments, probably scared to death at getting hit by our new enforcers.

Welcome to 2021, gents.

1. This is being done by Disqus, not Breitbrt. Many of their readers do not make that distinction.

2. It’s been going on for long time, but maybe not as often as now. My posts have been designated “waiting for moderation” many times. Always deleted.

So far its always been related to specific words. Just the name “Soros” gets you deleted every time.

They have a a list of other keywords that trigger their censor bots. Never know what it might be. Ive made slight, one or two word changes 3 or 4 times before Ifinally find it was the word “shoot”that did it. Or similar.

Thts why you see people using interesting spellings.

S0r0s, $oro$, k|ll|ng, sh@@ter, etc. Often that gets you past the censor bots.

I haven’t tried to post in a couple of weeks, don’t know whats happening right now. Probably trying to protect themselves from a mass advertiser exudus. If outfits like Mastercaard or Verizon see them as NOT censoring conservatives and pull out, they are in deep doo doo.

Expect something to happen here on FR too, they just have to figure out how to hit us.Maybe that was the reason for the server change not long ago???

They hate us, and now they are coming out of the closet about it. Expect more. Lots more.

In the past year, two conservative sites that I’m aware of eliminated their comments sections: The Federalist and Newsbusters. I don’t know why Newsbusters did it, but The Federalist was forced to do it by an Internet provider that threatened to pull their advertising if they didn’t remove comments deemed offensive. I don’t think they have the staff to police every single comment, so they just eliminated the whole thing.
