ah did some digging the property requirement was state by state and Andrew Jackson had led some of the changes around that so that most white men were able to vote by 1860... so not an amendment per se unless you want to consider the poll tax amendment as completely preventing it... the legislatures were still in charge but had limitations imposed by the different amendments ... no where is property specifically required nor is the requirement removed.

It would be nice if, once you actually own your property free and clear, you were no longer in danger of losing it due to "property taxes." And I have always opposed having to pay taxes for public schools. I don't have kids; I don't use their worthless schools. Why do I have to pay for them?

Of course, those are all state and local issues, not federal. But the income tax has got to go.
