"Life's Been Good" is a song by American musician Joe Walsh, which first appeared on the soundtrack to the 1978 film FM. The original eight-minute version was released on Walsh's 1978 album But Seriously, Folks..., and an edited 4-and-a-half minute single version peaked at #12 on the US Billboard Hot 100,[1] remaining his biggest solo hit.

In the song, Walsh satirically reflects on the antics and excess of the era's rock stars, with nods to Keith Moon and others: "I live in hotels, tear out the walls/I have accountants pay for it all", and "My Maserati does one-eighty-five/I lost my license, now I don't drive". The automobile that Walsh himself owned at the time was a 1964 Maserati 5000 GT.

When this Joe Walsh does something stupid, he can blame alcohol. Rep Joe Walsh has no excuse.

Is She Really Going Out with Him?

A question I asked many times.

Joe has told the reasons for writing the song. Pretty funny.
Joe is also a ham radio operator and is active on the bands.

Stevie Nicks dated Joe Walsh...I think she said once he was her soul mate.

1978
My 1972 Maserati Ghibli, 4 overhead cam v8, could only get to 174, not 185.
Bumpy back roads of east texas, not the slick interstate of southern California where Joe hang out.

He’s still a bitchin’ guitar player, so I’ll cut him some slack.

I drank shots of vodka with JW in Chicago c. 1987.

FRPoll: Is it;
Gold Records on the Wall or
Called Records on the Wall?

Meant no disrespect to him at all.
I LOVED that song. He is an icon.

Just, my version of his car would not go 185. Bought it because of his song.
Beautiful example of Italian art and engineering. Could have been my fiddling with it that made it slower than his.
4 dual webber carbs were a little tricky.
