Because a vengeful trump has to be put down because he will use his popularity to try to vote them out of office
If they can impeach Trump or push him out now, then Trump has no chance at running in 2024.

The normal reaction to winning an election and voting out someone you despise is to say “Hot dog. We got rid of that SOB. Let’s go get a drink.”
What we are seeing now is so out of the ordinary that it plainly points to something we can’t see.
