I like the analogy of “Ho Chi Minh”, as I was actually thinking of that the other day. I was thinking of the fall of South Vietnam after Kennedy led the dems to defunding them which eventually led to the North taking over. Specifically how the people of the South felt knowing they lost and now have to figure out how to survive under a communist regime.
Then the thought process went to more recent events, that of Venezuela. Knowing now they used the same voting machines, the good people of that nation must have talked among themselves “just how could this happen”. And now we know, for massive voter fraud could not be stopped. The rule of law and order for the Venezuelans is now what the government says it will be.

Actually Ho approached the US first and was rebuffed. Many authors have stated that 1919 was a lost “Wilsonian moment”, where the future Hồ Chí Minh could have adopted a pro-American and less radical position if only President Wilson had received him.

Kennedy? No - Nixon & Senate.
(FYI - I was there from ‘66 to ‘72)
Re: ‘American Ho Chi Minh’ analogy.
I cannot take credit for it. Another Freeper coined it or posted it here in FR somewhere first. I just don’t remember who to give credit. Perhaps he will pop up in this thread.
