If there is a “civil war” it won’t be conventional. It will be a lot like The Troubles.
In military law, there is a doctrine of reprisal. Essentially, if one side decides that they don’t feel like following the rules of civilized conflict, then the other side is no longer bound to follow the rules either.
The Left has demonstrated, over and over, that they feel that rules and laws do not apply to them. Yet, they assume that we will continue to be bound by the rules. It may be time to shake that assumption.
Agree 100%. I heard on the radio “Shopify” deplatformed POTUS yesterday. Except it wasn’t “shopify” that made that decision. It was a real person who made that decision. Until our side doxes them, puts on black clothes and shows up at the homes of these fascists they will not reconsider their actions.
The GOP and left have gotten way too comfortable while they stick knives in our backs and throats. We have two options: fight on their terms or lose. There is door number three here.
Or, if it escalates, like El Salvador.
And to think this sissy beat a friend of mine who was his opponent.
Don't forget how Romney got yelled at: a little bit more and they'll be checking over their shoulders every time they go outside.

I’ve been saying this to some of my colleagues recently... Where the Leftist mobs goes after anyone and everyone (including the average small business owners) by burning down who city blocks, etc- our side should be “targeting” (non-violently) their LEADERS! From Congress, to Senators (at EVERY level including the states), to Tech CEOs, Fortune 500 CEO and Wall Street Execs and Bankers, to high profile people! These people should be harassed relentlessly for the next four years! Massive protests outside their offices, homes, places where they play, entertain, non-stop! They must be made to be afraid!
This is an interesting piece, but ultimately it has a fatal flaw.
Do they fear the opposition voters? Yes.
However, they have had the narrative for the last 4 years that we were the “mob”, we were violent, we were racists, and we were seditionists. The events of two days ago are being used to show we are who they said we were. That is how they view it.
They now control the authority and organs of government. All of them. They control (or are controlled by) the media and big tech. They control much of what our children learn.
Anyone who believes they will not use every available tool, court, paper, and TV screen to destroy “Trump” has not been watching. Look at the crazy things being said by the Speaker of the House, the new Senate Majority Leader, and numerous committee chairmen. Will Nadler or Schiff stop their obsession with destroying Trump?
It is not over by any stretch. I wish it were, but I don’t see a new detente on the horizon. There are too many vocal and powerful forces on the left who do not seek it.
As an aside, the WWII nerd in me would like to offer a bit of a clarification or an additional consideration for the lesson of history that may be applicable here although these things are always subject to debate.
During the Battle of Britian, the Luftwaffe was targeting British aircraft and airfields to achieve air superiority with great effect. In a general sense, Churchill wanted the attack on Berlin as a propaganda coup and a blow to German psyche to show Britain was fighting back. The Air Ministry wanted it because they rightfully believed it would divert the Luftwaffe resources attacking the RAF airfields (they were on the ropes) to protecting the Reichstag and German pride.
In response to this attack and others, Hitler demanded that London and other cities in England be “bombed into submission” and civilians became the new target on both sides with horrific results. Sure, the allies said they were targeting industries in Germany, but they knew most of the bombs were landing on civilians. They at least stated the “targets” were industry, but the results were often far different.
Ironically, the blood shed by British civilians and destruction done to London and other cities did allow the RAF breathing room to overcome the catastrophic losses and eventually the British were able to fight off the Germans and achieve air superiority over Britain. However, never forget who paid much of the price after that fateful day on both sides.
The plan saved the RAF and kept the British in the fight, but it did not achieve this as planned. It was an indirect and very costly “victory” that played out over the following years. In reality it changed the shape of the war to come with tragic consequences where civilians and cities were acceptable targets. The British people, under the leadership of Churchill, stoically committed to the war and endured the Blitz with resolve. The German people endured the bombing campaigns and damage with resolve as well. The number of casualties from the bombing campaigns increased dramatically.
History views what happened in the Battle of Britain with some well-deserved horror and even skepticism as to the effectiveness of “total war” because of the civilian casualties suffered on both sides. A lesson worth consideration given the “example” in this opinion piece.
Staged doesn’t mean everyone in the room knew the plan. Glad some of them were genuinely scared.
I wouldn’t want to see her funeral used for a political
statement. Memorial yes but let this family alone.
