You mean a second party. Dem and reps are the uniparty with reps playing good cops for conservatives.

I am most definitely ready to leave the Republican Party. If Trump started a new party, it would be terrific.

It would be fun to see Cruz, Paul, et al start a third party, even if it started out small and “powerless”.

Screw them

I don’t want those thugs in my new party

We need to build a new party that siphons off from Dem and Rep and force the Dem and Rep party to officially merge

Everybody in DC needs to be replaced

Lots of interest in a 3rd party, which is understandable due to the uselessness of the Republicans. That being said, wouldn’t the Democrats (and probably the GOP, too) just cheat against the new party?

The reason they get away with it is because the gop does not really care about cheating. Its the only way for the far left to get in office. A maga party would care. They would have lawyers ar every suspect polling place.

You’re making the inference that there is currently a 2nd party. There isn’t.

That’s the main problem, and one that too many fail to appreciate. What this latest charade of an election has shown people willing to see, is that many in Congress don’t, or can’t understand, that they are meant to represent the voter. Not line their pockets and urinate on the Constitution.

"A third party would splinter the right wing vote and ensure democratic rule."

I am not certain that you noticed that even when we had President Trump, the House, and the Senate from 2016 to 2018 we still had Democratic Party rule. President Trump never gained effective control of the federal bureaucracy and was undercut by the GOP and that was due to the Uniparty. Why do you think that 39 Republicans retired before the 2018 midterms? The GOP leadership planned on losing the house to stop President Trump.

If we get rid of the GOP then we will no longer be stabbed in the back and there will only one obvious throat to choke.

"A viable option is to set up “sanctuary cities / counties” supporting gun rights & conservative principles. Do grass-roots protests and carve out No-Go areas - like the Left (& Muslims) have done."

That may be an option. However, it would need an organization locally or State and national level. I kinda like the idea and as long as such city/county/territories maintain good relations with local LE and adhere to the laws. I would work with such an organization here in Orange County, CA.

Got name? Constitution Sanctuary City or County (SAC)?

That said, it would be difficult to follow law depending on the guidlines. It's worth a try.

Two proposed processes are really the same thing.

You either start a viable third party based on the Trump foundation, or you take over the Republican Party in ways that guarantee control, i.e. loyalty tests.

If you go the third party route, the supporters of the GOP who agree will defect and join. If you take over the GOP, the uniparty element within that will then form their third party instead.

Result either way is the same, three parties (plus the Libertarians and Greens who will continue to hold their small shares).

Probably easier to start the alternative party and bar entry to uniparty types, than to take over the compromised GOP.

Objective should then be to find a candidate for 2024 who has somewhat broader appeal than Trump had in 2020. We need to study the changes in voting patterns from Reagan to Trump, is it all down to attrition, fraud, or did Reagan have a slightly larger following in the moderate portion of the spectrum?

This better candidate can still be Donald Trump. There are things Donald Trump could do in order to break through the 50% barrier, fact is that his temperament probably sheds a few potential votes that Reagan’s superior disposition held under equally hostile circumstances.

A one-man show is not the answer. This anti-communist movement has to be broadly based and run as a conventional political party within the established legal framework. But the corruption of the GOP has reached such levels that the GOP is no longer that party.

America First party with 70+ million Trump supporters?

From my perspective, the corrupt GOP is just about to be declared dead.

Of course some here have BVS, or Battered Voter Syndrome, where the GOP keeps kicking them in the teeth while lying to them, yet they keep coming back for more.

These people can't get enough abuse.

"What happened to the TEA Party?"

The GOP colluded with the leftists to kill it.

They legalize all those DACAs and the ones coming across this summer... shoot, they won’t have to cheat anymore. They’ll have more than enough voters.

Yes, until it’s time to vote.

Give the GOP your vote automatically and they will never change. Enjoy your 2024 nominee, Lindsey Graham. Or some other odious character who despises you like McCain and Romney did. Name doesn't matter, they're all the same.

Perhaps a more pertinent question would be; is it too late to start another political party?

I don’t see the point in it.

The left will install whomever they want. My registration is a thing of the past next week.

There is no rule of law or oversight in the election process.

“Take control of the Pube’s and use the organization”

Of all the times this has been discussed, has that ever worked?

For sure. But the Dominion systems are EXCELLENT INSURANCE in case another populist lied piper shows up again and wins too many votes by surprise, as happened in 2016.
