Focus on repairing instead of replacing.
If you do have to discard something, strip it of its useful parts. Sort out screws, fasteners, buttons, laces, etc., and store them for the time you need them.
Buy sturdy clothing now: pick up winter jackets, shoes, jeans, and practical clothes.
For children, you may want to purchase things a size or two up from what they’re currently wearing.
Every time you go to the store, grab basic items like toilet paper, aluminum foil, ziplock bags, or other things you normally use.
Look for reusable options for things you’d normally throw out after one use.
Stock up on the tools you might need to repair, make, or mend things in the future.
If there are things you’ve been planning to replace or update, do it now if it’s an essential item. You might not be able to do so later.
Take time now to get ready for a world that could be poorly stocked.

Hopefully better than preparing for an election.
How about secure communication? A big one is not talking about.
Prepper Ping
The color revolution has already taken place. You are talking about a counter revolution which is almost impossible to achieve unless the military is on your side. Right now I doubt it. Look at Venezuela. They have been trying for what 10 years?
The one true fact is that you can vote yourself into socialism but you have to shoot your way out. We won’t be there for at least four years. It will take these commies about that long to turn our country into something we don’t recognize anymore.
If you’re not prepared right now it’s too late. You’re only option will be to eliminate the weak and take their stuff. That is if you were astute enough to at least buy ammo.
In addition to Selco’s stuff, there’s FerFal’s account of the Argentina collapse:

Red Cross First Aid Training Course
Once that has been learned consider First Aid Instructor course. A necessarybskill useful in barter as well. Start yesterday Even if one has taken them in the past. Covid isolation certainly proved that ER care could be sketchy at best, and potentially more harmful.
Not to mention that one may not want such things logged into the health security monitoring systems due to circumstances.
;>) Many of the ailments and minor trauma wounds not involving rapid blood loss can be safely handled at home. RC course helps identify those situations allowing for self triage. Many bactericides are available OTC as well as wound closure items.
Sort of stuff Boys Scouts, farmers, and outdoor workers once learned when medical help was distant.
Skill right up there with staying fit when manual labor has become more intensive due to utility break downs.
Recycle. Reuse. Repurpose. Reduce.
The article listed dishes. That’s so far down my list it isn’t even on it.
A major item that is missing from the article is medicines and first aid supplies.
During the siege of Corregidor military personnel were staining white uniforms with coffee to create khaki; I can’t remember the last time I bought any clothing that wasn’t woodland colors (even for work).
Let The Joker Go Wild

After the ruckus at the Capitol yesterday, it’s going to go down sooner, rather than later, no doubt with some help from the Quisling GOP. I’m going to update my resume so I can get some folks down in Florida to pass it around, because that’s where I’m going to be headed. Maryland is going to swiftly become a dump, with our corrupt governor “Lockdown Larry” Hogan basically going along with whatever comes out of the new administration and also signing into law whatever oppressive measures the legisl00ture passes to stop a similar ruckus from happening in Annapolis.
For nerds like me, Maryland is going to swiftly become unlivable. So I gotta go.

First don’t “register” away your freedom......
The next couple weeks are the BEST time to buy winter clothing.
The stores are all clearing out their winter inventory preparing for the spring and summer arrivals.
As I recall from the past, the weeks before and after MLK weekend are the best.
They are starting to mark stuff down now, but in a couple weeks, it'll be even better.
Mind you, the selection isn't always the best, obviously, but you can get some really terrific deals.
It would be especially true for buying for kids for them to grow into something.
