With that style of thinking United States of America would never get created. When the elites from England ruled the American colony, no amount of peaceful protests would have given to the greatest democratic republic of USA.

The DC elites, all of them have become too tyrannical and the last straw was to create a fraudulent win for Biden and the elites in DC have no problem going along. If someone thinks peaceful protests will change anything, they are delusional.

The largest democracy in the world of India was also formed by patriots sacrificing their lives to drive the British rulers out of their crown jewel colony of India. There were assassinations and firing squads faced by the patriots.

Rand Paul, Show me one dictatorship dislodged by peaceful protests in last thousand years.

It was never intended by our founders that Congress have the power to overturn state-certified elections.

It was also never intended that thieves, charlatans, anarchists and Communists would use the freedoms of the Bill of Rights too overturn a nation, but the FF provided a way to prevent it should the unlikely happen. Pence wimped out. "Its still a Republic if we can keep it"...from those who want to "Fundamentally Change It". BTW...it seems they stole the Ga. runoff too. Same way. GOP is useless and complicit.

”Chaos. Anarchy. It's wrong and un-American.”

Well, Senator... Redress of grievances through normal means and channels hasn't worked. We've been ignored and worse. And after this latest insult to our intelligence (id est The obvious theft of the 2020 presidential and GA Senatorial elections), followed by the GOPe’s weak response, we are left with no other options. What you call Anarchy and un-American, I call the only option left us short of all out bloody conflict.

So can the all the silly speeches and DO YOUR DAMN’D JOB.

If you need any more advice, Senator, I’ll be right here.

Rand, I have a lot of respect for you but you’re off on the wrong tangent. The “certifications” of six states should not be “overturned” by congress but sent back to those states to verify they wish to certify the vote fraud in their states. In fact, a few of the states have talked about decertifying their prior certifications.

You say leave it to the states. I agree. Send it back to the states who had massive voter fraud and see if they want to decertify after all the evidence that now has been developed.

The foolish posit is that there is no other CONGRESSIONAL option! The Congress ought to be looking solely at deferring the process for a few days so the real Evidence of the treason can be shown to the American people and THEY demand that their state legislatures de-certify and reassign.

This 'speech' is a grand diversion from the reality.

“Voting to overturn state-certified elections would be the opposite of what states’ rights’

Obviously Paul does not recognize the rights of the rest of the states to NOT have their voters rights infringed upon by a few criminal states.

I sort of agree that the States are to choose their electors by themselves. If 50 states do that in a corrupt manner then it’s a bad thing. On the other hand, if the federal government can override the states’ choices, that’s also bad.

If the people of a state are willing to allow the government of their state to cheat, well, that’s their choice.

A national popular vote takes away power from the individual states.

Ultimately the government of this country is decided by its millions of citizens, not by its leaders or the media. That’s the way it’s supposed to be.

There are just a handful of Senators I would support in the future and Rand Paul is not one of them...

Wow! I thought Rand had more sense than this!

The state legislatures got rolled by Democrat partisans who stole the 2020 election.

By objecting to these improper certifications, Congress would NOT be overriding the authority of the states!

They would have been RESTORING that authority to the state legislatures where it belongs!

I am so disappointed in Rand Paul!

I guess the Democrat thugs beat the snot out of him one too many times.

“Chaos. Anarchy. It’s wrong and un-American.”

So is stealing elections and having no redress either through the courts, the Supreme Court or the state legislatures. That Rand is the cause of the chaos today.

The protesters meeting in Washington today are not there to overturn an election. They are there to insure that a fair representation of only legal votes cast in this election are secured and no illegal votes be counted. Mr. Paul, surely you are aware of the chicanery, voter repression, vote manipulation, foreign involvement, and sundry other illegalities not the least of which were perpetrated through unlawful means by State sec. of states, state supreme courts, local election officials, etc. All people were asking you and your fellow national legislatures to do was to delay your vote and allow the state legislatures to sort out their respective states’ mess. Is a delay too much to ask?

What do you think?

Well, you asked and you got the answer you must have expected. In the 5 stages of grief, FR is leaving step 1 (denial) and entering step 2 (anger). If you want an intellectual discussion of the constitution, the electoral college or election law, today is not the day, nor freerepublic the place. Check back in 6 months to a year.

We simply cannot destroy the Constitution, our laws, and the electoral college in the process.

Who is We, do you have a turd in your pocket?

The Democrats destroyed it. The evil ones.
