Ketchup on eggs is as vile and poisonous as mayonnaise on a hamburger. Tabasco, as you state, is best, but lots of coarse ground black pepper will do in a pinch.

Lots of mayonnaise and mustard on burgers, no ketchup.
You must be up north
Down south you put tomato on a burger
And Mayo and mustard....Dukes Mayo preferably
Ketchup only on scrambled eggs...and Tabasco
