Why?
It’s complicated. President Trump found out that in order to be effective and get things done, you must work within the confines of the swamp.
Would he have been able to get tax reform done? Strengthen our borders? Overturn the horrible Obama economy without give-and-take? Would he have been able to achieve as much as he did if he had fired half of the swamp?
Nope.
As a follow-up to my post above, let me give you an example. When he fired Jeff Sessions he should have and could have picked a much more effective Attorney General other than Bob Barr. So why did he do it?
Because he knew that Barr was a compromise choice that would be approved. Anyone else would not have been approved by members of his own party in the Senate. His hand was forced. He had to choose an establishment RINO like Bagpipes Bob.
If in fact after today Donald Trump is a lame duck president, then I agree with the earlier post that suggested he should go on a scorched earth policy. Unclassify all the docs. Fire Wray and Haspel. Declare martial law. Engage the national guard. Invoke the insurrection act.
Go nuclear.
