As I’ve said elsewhere, this defeat has two fathers, and only one of them is McConnell. Trump did the same kind of thing over DACA and the border wall, until the prospect of losing re-election focused his mind on things he really did not want to do. I like President Trump...But, sometimes, he is undisciplined in terms of messaging...
