They loose 19 milliseconds, but want to set clocks to loose a second ???

Hmmsss. The logic and math does not equal anything except ducking up more research funding.

I imagine they mean that one defined minute (possibly the last one of 2021) should be shortened by one second to make up for accumulated disparities, they don’t mean every minute should have 59 seconds, this is just a very minor version of the calendar switch from Julian to Gregorian that happened in the 18th century (earlier in Europe).

Apparently we’re spinning a tiny bit faster, impressive considering all the human junk that the earth has to move around.

In that missing second, perhaps we can find the missing votes too.
