I understand it’s annoying to find out that The Blob won, but it’s largely a one-time event. Without Trump proposing the $2K, thereby putting it on the table (50% blame) and McConnell not putting it up for a vote (50% blame), GA’s idlers would not have been motivated enough to spend the 10 minutes necessary to secure that particular gibsmedat.
The silver lining is that McConnell may just have set himself up for a leadership challenge. We may finally be able to see The Turtle humiliated and relegated to a non-leadership position in the Senate. It would be sweet to see him shuffling out of the senate on his last day 6 years later, a much diminished figure.
