“Show me the data that says mask-wearing prevents spread of COVID”

Better yet, show the data to the “piss-ant” employee who dropped a dime on you and see if that has any impact on his personal decision of whether he allows a maskless customer to shop or gets fired.

It ain’t the employee’s fault, good employees follow store policy. And, talking to corporate is like talking to a stone wall. So... take your business elsewhere.

I work for that company in the IT department. Currently my options are limited and I am not excited about starting over somewhere at the bottom of the seniority chain at almost 58 years old. This company has no soul, and I would strongly recommend shopping elsewhere.

I have never been in the hospital for flu or pneumonia although I did have a young relative die from the flu in a few days.

It is always interesting how people like you go from YOU won’t have a problem with COVID to pivoting when they find out Oh yes I could have a problem

Where in my post did you see me say what you claim.

YOu didnt .

....my husband was told this was the 2 Nd time in one day....

He didn’t mention any police arriving....or any police at all

There’s nothing laudable about ignoring someone else’s rules inside their business establishment.

We are a nation of laws, not rules. Being open to the public has a legal meaning. I know many on here want to claim that businesses can just make up whatever rule they want, but they can’t.

This is a time for choosing. Either we choose freedom, or we obey.

"Note to biz large and small: I don’t need to wear a mask to shop on Amazon."

Exactly! So stay home and shop online. That's great. But if you go into a store and they have a mask policy, put on the mask or don't go in. I'm honestly not sure why this is so difficult for people.

Get over yourself, there are people suffering and dying because of lockdowns. Just get over your constant fear of your own damn self.

Because the mask requirement is an unconstitutional act.

You ever hear about sit ins from the 50’s. Private ownership of public businesses does not permit discrimination. Wearing a mask is not recommended for me based on my health and age. Forcing me to do so endangers my health.

It sounds like you've bought into one of the biggest con jobs of the last 100 years in the U.S.

Private ownership of any business is just that: PRIVATE. This idea that business owners must set aside their own rights and liberties to accommodate "the public" has no place in a free nation.

The legal questions from the era of segregation during the 1950s and 1960s are far more nuanced than even most conservatives understand. I'd advise all Freepers to educate themselves on these points.

The segregation laws in Southern states were outrageous violations of everything this country is supposed to stand for. This is primarily because they were a blatant violation of private property rights. Mandatory segregation laws weren't unjust by any objective measure in a free nation because they ALLOWED business owners to discriminate against people, but because they REQUIRED business owners to maintain segregated business establishments even if a business owner wanted to integrate the establishment and serve any and all customers equally.

It figures.

You might be on nutwork neiws tonight as they endorse the heroes protecting the capitol. We need to be concerned about the capital the liberal government is stealing in our generation. Btw, there is a judgment day. The Bible is true. Hallelujah!

So a “mandate” by a state or local official, without going through a federal or state legislature that also passes constitutional muster should have no bearing on anyone. Especially if a business wants to serve all customers who come through the door.

I understand your position. Does the real world behave like that?

If all parties that you do business with are fine with that given full disclosure, more power to ya.

I don't know what "full disclosure" means. For most of my clients the terms of my contracts are private. If I sell my services to one client for $X and another client for $Y, neither one of them has any right to know what the other one is paying.

why do you have a problem if I want to wear a mask relying on brownian motion to try to reduce my viral load in order to have the best chance to fight off Covid.

You arent willing to guarantee WITH YOUR MONEY that I won’t have a problem with COVID.

Time for alternative communication methods since the FB, Googly, & Tweeter comrades will soon exclude dissenters from the internet. Any ideas? Smoke signals are slow and have other limitations.

Let’s hope, then, you don’t piss off a fMily member at Thanksgiving dinner ;-).

LOL.

1. It turns out the EEOC sign is only required for companies with 15 or more employees.

2. I started my own business because I wanted to rid myself of the idiocy and inefficiency of a large corporate bureaucracy. Now I only hire people who don't give a sh!t about the EEOC.

3. The EEOC poster is discriminatory on its face. It discriminates against people who can't read.
