Although I really REALLY want to go to the rally to support President Trump, the fact that I am retirement aged AND have Type 2 diabetes puts me in a higher risk category. Couple that with a scenario of being cheek to jowl in a crowd, even though it's outside, and I sadly have to pass. But I'll be there in SPIRIT, for sure. A friend just called me to ask if I wanted to join a small group who's going. I suggested they take the Light Rail from Baltimore (that's our home 20) to deprive Antifa/Anschmifa & BLM of the target of their car.
Does anyone know where the Baltimore Light Rail stops nearest the rally?
Does anyone know where I can see a schedule of the rally for attendees, so I can email it to my friend?
If there's anything else to know or anything else one should bring, I'd appreciate hearing about that as well, FRiends.
Please scream extra loud for those of us who cannot make it!!!!
Thanks to you and the other kind FReepers who responded swiftly to my request. I already conveyed the PDF with its myriad of information to my friend who will be attending the rally.
If you are flying to BWI, there are two public transit alternatives to go to Washington, DC. The first is to take a free shuttle bus which has an electric sign “AMTRAK/MARC”, which will take you to the BWI rail station on the Northeast Corridor rail line. MARC trains run about once per hour and are $7 one way, and terminate at Union Station which is on Capitol Hill about five blocks north of the Capitol. Amtrak trains also stop at BWI; they are $17 and up. The ride is about 35 minutes.
The alternative is to take Metrobus C30 which runs from various stops in front of the BWI terminal to Greenbelt station on the Washington DC Metro. You then take the Green line to the Archives/Navy Memorial station which is at 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, about halfway between the Capitol and the White House. The rally is at the Ellipse, which is a park south of the WH and north of the Washington Monument, about 8 blocks west of this station. This trip will probably take 75-90 minutes and have separate fares on the bus and subway totalling about
$10.
