“Question: what does the statement “digitally-composed, image mosaic” mean?
Does this mean it is a merged image from multiple photographs taken one after another?
Cheers.”
Yes, from the description two images of the aurora were taken (I assume the best was used) then a, likely, longer exposure of just the sky and land...pour into a photo program, shake vigorously and pour into Reykjavík stemware, so to speak.
Cheers to you.

I saw some green ones while working in Maine one summer in ‘72. But nothing like this. Then again over Denver for a few days in the early 80s. Those were red, but the Denver sky glow messed up seeing any detail.

Some years ago I saw a photo that was even more remarkable; but I can’t find that one now.

I only know of one ‘photo’ (film) of Bigfoot.
I was referring to a photo of a murmuration of starlings.
