I think the best approach may be for topics that seem whacko to be noted at the beginning of the thread so it is clear.

I like your idea. I will say the topic need not be “whacko” at all, but that some area just not right for the Q thread. I respect those who are naturally inquisitive and want to learn moar.
When this line of speculation (JFK Jr.) first reached our threads, I did receive a request to post something at the start of threads re Kennedy but only did so a few times because I thought it seemed like nagging.
I’ll wait for a little moar input to see if enough peeps think such a caution would be helpful.
ThankQ for the thoughtful responses. We come to this point from other directions in the past. For some, the task of scrolling seems to simple to require a fix.
For others who must ration their time and energy reading the Q thread, reading content only to realize it’s speculative (e.g., not Q etc.) can feel like valuable time has been wasted.
I am trying to remember to post my name at the top of my long posts to warn people so those who don’t want to invest their time reading it have “fair warning”. As it is, warning comes too late when it’s at the bottom of the tread.
Even better, putting a few key words at the top of a post would help people know if the topic was of interest- but I gotta say, typing those little blurbs does slow a person down!

Ransomnote - is there a new thread tonight? I want to post my night night mountain soon but don’t want it to turn into festival right after I post. I often post something and presto! festival....
