Happy New Year and God bless FR!
What is a kung flu deposit?
The $600 "stimulus"
Stimulus money. How much it drives the national debt up, who really knows.
Nevermind. Just checked bank account. A surprise. Thought the crooks were still ironing things out.
Thanks. Did not know it was a done deal.
Did not get one ..WHAAT?
I knew nothing of it, but it was there today. Nice surprise!
Husband on SS, probably why it came so fast.
Those of us actually contributing to the economy aren’t getting squat, just as we haven’t gotten squat in the past “stimulus”.
What makes you think others are not contributing to the economy?
Mitch is still a jerk.
I am not sure of the process, but it is related to direct deposit of IRS refund or Social Security. Or they will cut a check, which will take awhile.
Got mine. Yippee, now the checking account is up to a whopping $77.
(Awhile back, my Bank went and paid an ACH despite my requests not to, to both the vendor and the bank. They don’t give a sh*t)
Are these $600 deposits being distributed in alphabetic order? Do recipients thus far have last names beginning EARLY in the alphabet?
There must be a phased distribution process as all monies cannot be distributed at once.
Nope. I’m toward the end of the alphabet, and my money has already appeared in my account.
I might add, the money is just in time to send it back to Uncle Sugar for my 4th quarter estimated tax payment.
got mine last night too
My bank has an online explanation of these $600 distributions which states distributions will begin AS EARLY AS JANUARY 4TH.
Obviously, the Treasury Department’s electronic distribution payment lists have already been delivered to the financial institutions but some, like my bank, are not making funds available until next week.
This begs the question: “Have the financial institutions already received the funds or have those financial institutions which have posted the payments to individual accounts actually ADVANCED the funds before government settlement payments?”
The reason this matters is the federal funds distributions amount to many millions of dollars PER BANK and thus the banks could be sitting on the money for days without permitting account holders to use the money to the benefit of the bank’s bottom line.
My modest contribution to the government is about half my earnings once you take into account the payroll taxes, real estate taxes, sales taxes, taxes and access fees(another name for taxes),taxes hidden in fuel prices,ad nauseum ad infinitum.
Granted the total is only five figures so yes, I still qualify for the debt-increasing “stimulus”.
