Just watched Breakdown the other night. We also have Executive Decision in the collection. IMHO he’s always been underrated. Not many can move so skillfully between comedy (Used Cars; Big Trouble) and drama/villainy (the Tarantino Grindhouse flick).

His career fizzled out and it seemed like he was on the ropes for a while. After that light Disney stuff, he got type cast and it almost ruined his career. He had to re-invent himself.

After 1970, he did a lot of TV movies and shows and got light fluffy parts. His career was going down the tubes. He had to re-invent himself as a badass to resurrect his career. In the early 1980s he finally crawled back up with Escape From New York, Silkwood, and The Thing. Finally returning to a solid career he could make movies like Swing Shift, Big Trouble in Little China, Tequila Sunrise, and Tango & Cash. Love them or not, they were successful.

Then he reached stardom in the 90s with movies like Backdraft, Tombstone and Captain Ron.

I still love the movie “Overboad”. Just a gem. No homosexuals. No nudity. No violence. No car crashes. No sex scenes. No foul language I can think of beyond “damn”. Family friendly and a wonderful comedy to boot.

I liked BREAKDOWN...A good action movie...

EXECUTIVE DECISION...Not a politically correct movie...Islamic terrorists are not very nice in that movie.
Steven Segal was a supporting character. Marla Maples was also in that movie...
