Me. Windows 7 on three laptops and one desktop. All have MS Office 2003 installed on them. When we’ve relocated, my Office 2003 program disks have been in my carry-on bag; can’t risk losing it.

I have a laptop with XP and am getting a blue screen when I turn it on. Am not sure if it’s repairable or not but will check it out. I like the XP sound recorder.

Hubby has Windows 10 on his machines and has constant problems.

I assume you know about the optional file-type converter pack that gives Office 2003 the ability to read and write Office documents in the "new" formats (.docx instead of .doc, etc.).

I ran Office 2003 with that pack until about a year ago, when I was finally forced to migrate to Office365 for my work.

Download and try out LibreOffice. Once you see that you can open and use all of your current docs with LibreOffice, you won't be so worried about MS Office.

Me too. Also W7 on 1 of them. The XP laptop, at that time was the best of it’s gen. Until now, I can upgrade the anti-virus.

Sounds like my Windows 7. Nobody seems to want to fix it, so I wait and hope. Meanwhile I have an XP too, I removed the guts and buried them in a kleenex box in the attic, until the resurrection comes for old hard drives. I was maybe 10 years old when the XP croaked...then came Windows 7...but nothing has ever consoled me about the coma my Windows 7 lies in, to this day.

Windows 10 is a pita. Absolutely. It is the worst PC program I have ever used. Ever. It is snarky, obliterates date into a disappearance channel, it takes you where you never had any intention of going and it changes all kinds of things during the night including passwords and ID.

My old Dell is a 7 but its motor burned out and I don’t have the money to replace it.

Life is often hard and unexpected. If I this piece of HPS continues to give me problems I will trash it and never get another computer. I really don’t care anymore...it is used for FR and for internet searches, primarily. I will find someone who will share...maybe
