The Canadian government said Wednesday that passengers must have a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days before they arrive in the country.
Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Dominic LeBlanc said the measure will be implemented in the next few days.
Canada already requires those entering the country to self-isolate for 14 days and it has already banned all flights from the United Kingdom because of the new variant of COVID-19 spreading there.
The decision came a day after the premier of Canada’s largest province said he had ordered his finance minister to end a Caribbean vacation he took at a time the government is urging people to avoid nonessential travel because of the pandemic.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford said Wednesday it is “unacceptable” that Finance Minister Rod Phillips went to the French island of St. Barts for the holidays. …

Lots of retired Canadians go to Florida for months to escape the long Canadian winter. This is good for everyone involved, including the FL economy.
Getting old people into the sun and fresh air is far preferable to them being confined indoors, not just with respect to the scamdemic virus.
What kind of a$$hole sees it as preferable for old people to be shuttered during winter months, when the lack of sun and vitamin D makes them more susceptible to flu, depression and loneliness?
I want to visit Canada and spend some money there but apparently they don’t want my money....

My next door neighbors are from France and have a vacation home here. Not only did they need a good test result but they also had to drive straight through from their home to here. Normally they would spend the night at a hotel to split the drive up but that was forbidden.
Will this apply to the Chinese troops that are flooding into Canada?
Research has been showing that if you test positive for the virus, you will continue to come up positive on later tests for at least 90 days even though you are not able to transmit it to others after days 10 - 14. This is according to what USAF doctors told my sister-in-law.

Depends on the test used, I think. The saliva tests are less likely to pop positive thanks to viral debris than the nasal swabs.
And what if you had the China Flu, recovered, and now have antibodies? Test anyway?
