NEW YORK CITY, NY – A Queens woman is facing a 25-year prison sentence and felony weapons charges after police raided her home and seized a “stockpile of weapons,” which were later found to be toys and production props. One year later, Elizaveta Zlatkis is still fighting to have the charges dismissed.

If NYC disappeared, the rest of New York State would probably be a nice place to live.
Why did they raid her home? Someone told them they saw a gun at the woman’s house and the cops decided to barge in and throw her in jail? Obviously they knew the innocent woman with fake guns would not resist, and so, to get the arrest numbers up they chose to attack her and not some REAL criminal who would resist with REAL guns.
Easier to arrest women with stage replicas of guns and kids with pop tarts or sketches on paper or fingers in a “gun” configuration.
Real criminals go free, innocent citizens go to jail.
Production props may or may not be toys.
NYC gun laws do not allow possession of functional weapons without a permit and a police license for each individual one.
That they were being used for entertainment does not change the law.

Your comment was a general comment regarding NYC cops - I was responding to that. As far as a specific story designed to make NYC cops look bad and pull at our heartstrings, I don’t know enough to respond either way.

They are very stupid, as I can attest as a longtime former resident of NYC.
But they are NOT responsible for this clusterfark of charges...that is squarely the fault of the D.A.
