That was taken from a GEO satellite so it is always over the same place on earth. The completely dark earth is night time. Then after sunrise the eclipse shadow moves over South America and east across Africa. They did not explain it very clearly.

I think they did, but I didn’t read the OP closely enough. Cool stuff. My second post about the photos from ISS later on in that article had better photos from other satellites.

Bullsh!t !

I know what I'm talking about. There's no way the eclipse shadow was as wide as it appears in the video.
