These are American stores and the clerks are my town people. It’s their livelyhood. Selling imported goods isn’t exactly a new concept.

They aren’t American stores, they are global corporations with no loyalty to you, your town, or their employees. Selling imported goods is not a new concept, but it used to be a the realm of a rare fancy boutique. Now it is not only the cheap clothes, electronics, car parts, but unexpected items like shrimp, garlic, and apple juice that are shipped in from China. 60% of the apple juice sold in the US from China.
